The Boston Museum Trio play with great sensitivity and a high tone culture. You can hear that that Daniel Stepner, Laura Jeppesen and John Gibbons play together already for many, many years.
There is just the right mixture of joyousness and a whiff of melancholia in these renditions.

(In the sonatas in which the organ is used as the continuo, the two string players seem to switch places from where they were in the harpsichord-accompanied works, but that's no bad thing.)'

The performance is dramatic, full of contrasting colors, bold statements, warmth and humanity -- without ever going beyond the bounds of taste and good musicianship. It is "alive".
