Nach einem Grubenunglück sorgt ein durchgedrehter Bergarbeiter am Valentinstag für ein Blutbad. Zehn Jahre später kehrt Tom ("Supernatural"-Star Jensen Ackles), der damals den Unfall verursacht hatte, in die Bergarbeiterstadt Harmony zurück und sieht sich mit Anfeindungen sowie der Tatsache konfrontiert, dass seine damalige Freundin Sarah (Jaime King) mit seinem alten Rivalen und jetzigem Sheriff Axel (Kerr Smith) verheiratet ist. Doch das erweist sich als Toms kleinste Sorge, denn plötzlich schlägt der Spitzhackenkiller wieder zu. Hölzerne Darsteller, unfreiwillig komische Soapopera-Einlagen und eine verschnarchte Dramaturgie machen die Neuauflage des Slasher-Klassikers "Blutiger Valentinstag" eigentlich zu einem lausigen Vertreter der nicht enden wollenden Horror-Remake-Welle
