None of these were sourced from lossless,
but my work was saved as FLAC files.  The lowest began as 192 bps and the highest as 320 bps. They were the highest
quality I could find online and some were hard to find to begin with.

I wasn't very aware of anything by the
Hudson Brothers other than the two AM radio hits I had heard back in the day.  Those two, "Rendezvous" and
"Lonely School Year" are not included here since I wasn't impressed by them back then and like enough other
tracks to squeeze them out.

Ironically my favorites ended up filling up 79:57 of an 80 minute CD-R. I
followed the tracklisting of their one "Best of" CD (OOP) fairly closely. Many of the tracks are from there
since in a comparison they sounded superior to vinyl rips.  A lot of the "So You Are a Star" CD tracks were
sourced from vinyl and I tastefully De-Clicked that awesome title track (it still had a couple of stray 'tics') along
with the songs that I could only get from vinyl.

None of them are my rips (most are from 'homercat'), but I
cleaned them up further where needed.  Some things just can't be completely eliminated without leaving obvious NR
artifacts.  I listened to EVERY Hudson/Hudson Brothers track I could find.

I am surprised the "So You
Are a Star" 45 was not a big hit.  Owes a lot to The Beatles, Raspberries, Badfinger, solo Macca & solo Lennon,
but is a great song. This should be the cleanest version ever. I even cleaned up a 320 bitrate vinyl rip and quite like
it, but the Varese CD track has a cleaner fade-out.

Some of the tracks included on the Varese "Best
of" I don't care for, so this is a collection of my favorites.  I hesitated to call it a "Best Of"
or "Greatest Hits" since I did not include their two biggest sellers.  You can find them easily and could swap
them out if you want.

So, if you already knew about the Hudson Brothers' musical talent, I hope you enjoy
this.  If you are like I was and were oblivious to most of their work, give it a try.  They certainly deserve another
legit CD release. Now I see why I see quite a few mentions/tributes on the web and in blogs.

I even cleaned
up the original LP version of Joni, but when I compared them it does not surpass the "Best Of" version.
There is a difference between them and the LP one has a balanced mix vocal-wise instead of 'hard' left among other
things (very low volume instrumental ending).  I even combined the louder ending with the LP one, but still prefer the
Varese compilation version in the end.

No need to apply ReplayGain or anything like that. Burn as is WITH
gaps. I have provided front cover CD art and LightScribe art & label file if you use SureThing.
