  Salma Said Ali was a devout Muslim woman from the island of Zanzibar off the east
coast of Africa, married and a mother of two sons she worked as a Biology teacher. After the break-up of her marriage
and the loss of her sons to her former husband's family she accepted a marriage proposal from a British citizen and came
to live in England; first Liverpool and then London. In London she worked as a teacher of English and was challenged in
her faith by one of her students. After a week of prayer and fasting during which she sought God a series of dreams,
signs, revelations and answers to prayer convinced her that Jesus (Issa) was not just a Prophet, as she had been taught
in Islam, but was indeed God Himself come as a human. Salma was baptised but lived as a secret christian for a number of
years before declaring her new faith to her family. After an interrogation by her family back in Zanzibar she was
rejected by them and had to forge her new life alone.
