           The reason I created this torrent was to provide you with some information on 'EST' like trainings
and their origins before you do the training.


1) Look before you leap! 

When I signed up to
do my EST like training NO ONE would give me any information about the training. All anybody would say is that it is
amazing and I must do it. I found this lack of information most strange, like buying a car without test driving it.
Later on I found out that the real reason for the silence is that after you complete the training you are required to
take a vow of silence about the contents of the training. The said that the reason was that foreknowledge of some of the
games and processes could ruin effect of those teachings. 

I felt and still do feel that it is your right to
know as much as you want to know. I also feel that if some people are scared off by this information then it is a good
thing. If you are not ready or able to face your true yourself and be held accountable for everything you have done or
failed to do in your life then you are simply not ready for this training. If you are not able to look at yourself then
you will find this seminar a negative experience. 


2) Second, I provided this information because the
teachers did not provide any background information on how and where this training originated. In fact MOST people who
attended the seminar with me thought that the teachers had created it. It was mentioned during the seminar that all the
training material can be found in books. 

Months after I attended the trainings I came across a book that
described almost to the word the trainings. It was a big shock when I realised that the trainings were copied from
someone else. I did some research and found out that the trainings had been copied many times by many different teachers
and could be traced backwards through the years until we reach Werner Erhard. Prior to Werner Erhard the trainings
material splits up into many different sources. For this reason I believe it is Werner Erhard who is effectively the
creator of the trainings I attended.

He compiled EST from various different sources and packaged it in a new,
exciting and effective package. It is not know if Werner Erhard created any of this material but he certainly borrowed a
lot from books or trainings that he had attended. Four of his sources that I know about are: 

* Zen teachings
from Alan Watts

* Mind Dynamics Seminars - Erhard worked as an instructor for Mind Dynamics. There teachings
included teachings based on Rosicrucianism and Theosophy, as well as the methods of Edgar Cayce and Jose Silva (Silva
Mind Control).

* Scientology - Erhard attended several Scientology trainings and became an enemy of the
Scientologists when he used some of there teachings in his own training seminars.

* Dale Carnegie - One of
the core ideas in his books is that it is possible to change other people's behavior by changing one's
reaction to them.


3) Third I wish to address some of the controversy surrounding Erhard Werner and the
EST like trainings. The Scientologist organisations appear to be trying to discrete Erhard Werner and his teachings.
Several people have also accused the trainings of being cults. Although there is some behaviour which can appear cult
like the EST trainings are definitely not cults. Some people do get overly excited about the teaching and see their
teacher as being amazing. This never happened to me but it does to some people. I disliked this but at no time did my
teachers claim to be anything more then normal humans. 


An Example of What Qu(EST) Teaches

If you don't do ALL the sessions and DON'T embrace the training you will get nothing out of it. Well Qu(est)
teaches you ways to create value in your life. You learn these ways by playing games and doing processes so that you
have a learning experience so you don't forget it! The basic ways to create value in life are:

Acceptance
Risk
Openness
Spontaneity 
Participation
Communication
Sharing
Listening
Experiencing the now
Honesty
Integrity 
Intention

Of course each of these
points has hours and hours of explanation and training behind it so it is not possible to understand the true depth of
what they are teaching but just reading this list. They also teach what causes you to fail and you how to remove the
obstacles in your life to success. They NEVER told me once to dare to dream or go after what you want. These one line
throw away sentences sound cool but are meaningless because they don't help you get anywhere. 


Summary

The EST teaching style is excellent for the vast majority of people BUT it is not suitable for
absolutely everyone. I have provided this information so that you can better make that choice. Knowing something of the
history and methods of the EST trainings will allow you to make an informed choice. I was not given that opportunity.

PLEASE do not misunderstand me. I loved my EST training and benefited immensely and I am not a mindless
follower. I think and question for myself. I try to look at all sides of an issue before making up my mind. Actually
this is what the trainings teach. They say don't believe something is true unless you check for yourself and what
is true today may change tomorrow so check again tomorrow! 

Doing an EST like training is like being hit with
a Sledge Hammer, it took me three years to process all I learned in three days. I am not joking weeks and months later
you will be faced with a situation and suddenly you will say "Oh yes now I get it!�. I tell most people who
ask that doing an EST training seminar is like having three years of psychotherapy in three days. 


I
recommend everyone should consider doing it!!!
