Description

 							Yeh Hai Mohabbatein follows the story of Raman Bhalla(Karan Patel) and Ishita Iyer(Divyanka Tripathi) who are
connected by their common love for Raman's little daughter Ruhi(Ruhanika Dhawan).
  
  Ishita is a Tamilian
whereas Raman is a Punjabi. Ishita, who is unable to bear children, shares a very close, motherly relationship with
Ruhi, while filling the void of a child in her own. She has been rejected by many marriage alliances because she is
barren. She is friendly, warm and caring while Raman is bitter and hard from the days of his divorce. During his
daughter's custody case, he marries Ishita so that he can get custody. Raman gets his daughter Ruhi's custody. Raman
also has an 11 year-old son Aditya(Gautam Ahuja), whose mind is poisoned against Raman by his ex-wife Shagun Arora(Anita
Hassanandani) who recently got engaged to Raman's business rival and ex-boss, Ashok Khanna(Sangram Singh). Court has
given Aditya's custody to Shagun.
  
  Raman and Ishita's marriage is just a contract for the sake of Ruhi.
But Raman and Ishita soon start falling in love but they do not realise. After many dramatic incidents Ishita's cousin
sister Mihika's(Mihika Verma) and Raman's best friend Mihir Arora's(Raj Singh Arora) whom he consider as a younger
brother, marriage is fixed. But that's when Mihika's family asks Mihir about his family. He tells that his father died,
a sister who left him for her happiness and a mother with whom he doesn't have any contact for years. He tells Raman's
family as his family. Mihir and Mihika decides to do a court marriage with the blessings of the families but couldn't as
his sister had filed an objection for this. Ishita now wants to know about Mihir's family and that's when she goes to
Punjabi Cooking classes in Poornima's cooking class. Poornima always asks about her family and especially Ruhi.
 

  She also befriends a girl named Sanjana(Arshima Thapar) but feels something fishy in her behavior as she runs
away seeing Raman or any member of Bhalla family. She confronts Sanjana about this and she says that she is Mihir's
sister and Raman broke their relationship and also tells that she had an affair with Raman in the past and he himself
broke it. Ishita becomes jealous and angry hearing this and soon realises that she has fallen in love with Raman. After
a series of misunderstanding Mihir burst out with the truth that Shagun is his sister and Poornima is his mum and hates
them as they have made Raman's life a hell. Raman and Ishita asks him to forgive Shagun and make her marry Ashok as
Shagun is doing all this because her life is unsettled.
